DFID Forest Governance, Markets and Climate (FGMC) Programme supports the EU Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan, as part of a global effort to tackle deforestation, in particular by tackling illegal logging in developing timber-producing countries and the trade in illegally-produced timber products. The FLEGT Guyana Project aims to establish a Coordination Unit to Support the Negotiation of a Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Voluntary Partnership Agreement between the European Union and Guyana. Coffey International Development Ltd (Coffey) and the IDL Group Ltd (the IDL group) are partnering to establish and manage the Coordination Unit for the purpose of reaching a Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Voluntary Partnership Agreement in Guyana.
