DIAHD - Disability Inclusive Agricultural and Health Development in Zambezia

The main goal of this projects is to increase the income of 1000 impoverished, smallholder farmers through increased agricultural productivity in 50 communities in Ile and Lugela Districts in Zambezia Province, Mozambique, and to improve the access to their rights to quality health and agricultural support from local and district-level agencies. Approximately 30% of the beneficiaries are people negatively affected by leprosy, lymphatic filariasis, konzo and other diseases. The project has 3 main pillars: 1) Promoting Conservation Agriculture as a way to improve livelihoods and nutritional status 2) A combined approach to quality healthcare: timely diagnosis and referrals, self-care rehabilitation 3) Knowledge building of local capacities for functioning self-help groups and agricultural livelihoods
