Urban health in India is one of the neglected components within the broader health system. Eye health therefore receives less attention as compared to broader urban health issues. Refractive error is one of the most ignored and one of the major contributors to blinding conditions among the urban poor. This initiative intends to improve access to eye health services in slums of Jaipur in 3 years time, through outreach services through static and mobile centres and referring patients needing surgical or treatment interventions to Government / NGO hospitals within the city.
