Aim of the project is to provide eye care services to the poor population of the project area The activities to be implemented are hospital based intervention, providing eye care services through outreach screening camps, door to door counselling, awareness at community level as well as with medical personnel at grass root level and with health functionaries of other organisations on eye health issues, School screening programme by training school teachers on vision screening and developing linkages with Government system for better support for eye care services There would be an overall uptake of eye care service by the people thus resulting in decrease in the overall incidence rate of blindness due to blinding eye conditions.
