Combatting Childhood Blindness Programme addresses the severe shortage of paediatric ophthalmology services in Sri Lanka, particularly in treating Retinopathy of Prematurity/ROP (an eye disease that affects prematurely-born babies that can lead to blindness). By working with the government, the project will help to strengthen the capacity of rural provinces in their provision of eye health care of ROP treatment centres.
