The purpose of this project is to prevent blindness, restore sight of children in Central and coastal Karnataka, viz., Shimoga, Uttar Kannada, Haveri, Chikmagalur, Udipi and Davengere districts. The specific objectives of the project are, 1. To provide comprehensive paediatric eye services in the project area to identify and treat visually impaired children. 2. To raise awareness on childhood blindness and to promote community ownership and wider impact of the initiatives. 3. To network with other local NGOs and eye services providers in the project districts.
