Barmer district IE SURE

These are district based pilot programmes being implemented in most inaccessible districts of Rajasthan with difficult geographical terrain and recurring drought making the lives of people very challenging. The projects aim to ensure that all visually impaired children up to the age of 18 years receive quality education within the wider education system. The project has adopted an approach of strengthening education system at the district level for effective planning, monitoring and implementation of the inclusive education activities. 251 children (165 in Jaisalmer and 86 in Barmer) are being supported for continuous education and inclusion. The projects also demonstrate the effective community mobilisation for improving resources for children and importance of bridge courses in improving level of learning of children through follow-up and inclusion of Information technology.
