IATI Identifier:
Early intervention is recognised as crucial in mitigating and preventing developmental disabilities. Services for early intervention are rare in India and non-existent in the rural areas. This project will provide parents with local follow-up services for their children, as the only existing services are at assessment centres and government hospitals. Sensitization workshops will be conducted in community health centres and health workers will be encouraged to participate in the assessment and parent training. Parents will be trained with skills to support their children and will also act as monitors, to monitor health workers attendance, focus and skill delivery.
