This project aims to empower blind civil society leaders and professionals to access computers using the Portset Braille key technology, which will facilitate their independence and social inclusion, as well as the development of their organisations. Braille key provides a quick route into computing and it can, in principle, be used at internet cafés, for those without a personal computer. The targeted organisations that will take this work to scale include two leading DPOs and five schools for the blind. This pilot also aims to inform national policy-makers and the Advisory Council on ICT to influence future policies on ICT in schools.
