The overall programme goal of the project is to contribute to reduction of childhood blindness from 0.75/1000 to 0.4/1000 by 2020. The programme purpose is to provide child eye health services to a population of 1,053,470 children in Morogoro, and more specifically 313,835 children in the project area. The project has three specific objectives: 1. To strengthen districts and Morogoro regional hospital to support prevention, management and mitigation of childhood blindness by May 2010 2. To establish case identification and paediatric ophthalmic referral and follow up systems in the project area (districts) by May 2010 3. To establish an information management system to support project management, learning and accountability
