START - Inclusive COVID-19 response to Older persons, people with disability and vulnerable persons in North Uganda, West Nile and Karamoja Sub Regions

The project focused on increasing resilience of older persons and school going children under their care to respond to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic and government restrictions, through strengthening protection and increasing access to WASH facilities at community level. The project conducted a rapid capacity building campaign through sensitization and access to age appropriate and ease to use IEC materials to communities focussing on older persons on appropriate COVID-19 pandemic prevention, mitigation and response mechanisms as per the Ministry of Health guidelines and in line with the national COVID-19 response policy 2020. It procured and distributed PPE to beneficiaries working closely with the district local governments, other institution where communities gather like churches, schools and mosques. We distributed temperature guns, hand sanitizers, liquid soap and install hand washing facilities at 125 facilities across the sub region.
