This project builds a protective environment for children, by reducing the number of children coming into conflict with the law (either as new offenders or re-offenders), while protecting children from violence, abuse and exploitation in prison, detention centres and within their communities and promoting successful rehabilitation to avoid stigmatisation.The project ensures children feel safe, accepted, valued and have a future by either being enrolled into formal schools or starting an income generating activity. The project addresses gaps in services in detention centres, and builds the capacity of juvenile stakeholders, family members and community members to contribute to the overall reduction of violence in Afghanistan. ;
