In the Global Climate and Energy programme, we aim for a situation where civil society is actively influencing and supporting ramped up climate actions globally, ensuring that global average temperature is kept below a 1.5°C increase, contributing to long-term climate resilient and sustainable development for people and nature. WWF’s work is closely linked with the Danish MFA and its support to global fora, institutions and processes to push common agendas and initiatives related to the UNFCCC and the implementation of the Paris Agreement. Our vision is threefold i) None-state multi-stakeholder platforms, such as Climate Action Platforms, have been established, strengthened and consolidated to monitor, analyze and advocate for and support accelerated implementation and enhancement of NDCs and related climate, energy and development goals in key countries. ii) The organized non-state actors are more effectively engaging with national governments in policy dialogues regarding enhancement of country NDCs and support accelerated implementation. iii) Increased finance mobilized for non-state actors and market-based solutions for piloting and scaling of low-carbon pathways and solutions to support the implementation of NDC targets and measures in developing countries.
