2022-25 DEV Niger

Overall objective of the country programme 2022-25: Contribute to the socio-economic development and improved resilience of vulnerable households in Niamey, and internally displaced people, refugees and host communities in the region of Tillabéri affected by the multidimensional crisis. The country engagement has the following outcomes: 1. Youth groups in crisis affected areas are skilled and mobilised to promote peaceful coexistence resulting in improved social cohesion. 2. Crisis-affected and vulnerable urban households are more resilient and self-reliant through improved climate smart food production and income generation such as female-led urban gardening and training of farmers in climate adapted agricultural practices. 3. Women, young boys and girls have enhanced opportunities, and social and economic empowerment through vocational skills training, improved income generation, women’s associations, rights awareness and establishment of Savings and Internal Lending Communities. 4. The voices of marginalised and vulnerable groups have been strengthened through improved capacity of community-led groups to conduct advocacy initiatives. 5. CADEV-Niger (Caritas Développement Niger) has successfully addressed all gaps mentioned in their CIMS improvement plan, including the 5th standard (safeguarding), and has continued to enhance CHS compliance. 6. CADEV-Niger has increased influence through their capacity for advocacy in favour of the vulnerable and marginalized.
