Danmission Strategic Partnership for Democracy and Human Rights

Danmission and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has agreed to a Strategic Partnership to promote democracy and human rights by: Strengthening faith-based organisations and theological institutions to take social action based on the actual needs of the people they serve and thereby be catalysts for promotion and protection of human rights including freedom of Religion and Belief; Strengthening inclusive and just community building through interfaith and intercultural dialogue, peaceful coexistence and conflict management, and support democratic societies based on human rights and active citizenship; Strengthening civil society actors and faith-based actors through theological and spiritual reflections on resource scarcity and the interconnectedness between people and nature to engage actively in natural resource protection and management, empowering local com-munities to engage actively in the protection and management of natural resources, in preventing and mitigating natural resource conflicts, and in accessing natural resources and other income-generating opportunities
