The Ambassadors for Peace project in Epworth and Goromonzi have sustained through physical anchoring with the establishment of the information desks and peace gardens. These proved to be relevant tools for dialogue and common understanding since 2020 to present. They are self-sustained centres for peace initiatives by peace ambassadors (PAs) and the communities. The progress measured in the project revealed how violence is sometimes present but not noticed in rural communities of Zimbabwe. It is against this background that SLYP and YAT will expand the project to Seke and Murewa rural districts. This project willdemocratically select 18 new PAs who will be capacitated in a joint capacity building workshop that will be held in Victoria Falls. The strategy involves PAs of Epworth and Goromonzi referred to in this project as pioneer PAs sharing real live examples in the peace ambassador journey enhancing confidence and motivation amongst the new PAs. Afier the training, the PAs will be tasked to launch their brand in both communities in the presence of invited guests, YAT and pioneer PAs. At the launch, the PAs will introduce their assumed posts, familiarise their roles and quest within the community. Afier the pilot project, the PAs know their role, their responsibility in the community and are known therefore can operate at different levels and platforms of the targeted districts at large.
