The aim of the Pilot Project is to ensure adequate education and awareness on sexual and re-productive health and rights (SRHR) amongst the youth and adolescents in Tanzania. The project applies a right?s based approach in combating the SRHR issues facing Tanzania, e.g. teen-age pregnancies, gender? based violence, high STI rates and gender inequality, by delivering comprehensive sexual education to five secondary schools in Dar Es Salaam. By strengthening the organizational capacity of TAMSA TAMIDA, e.g. training volunteers and conducting capacity building workshops, the project aims to break down these cultural taboos, raise awareness and thereby increase health and well-being among the Tanzanian youth. Through a progressive advocacy and communication strategy we are laying the ground for a change in the local and national mindset about SRHR.
