Ashipti works toward educating young people and the general population about the immense strain that Non-Communicable-Diseases (NCDs) have on society, public health care, and most important-ly on individuals. With our previous experience in working with partnerships and on NCD prevention in Uganda, we hope to start a new partnership in Ghana. Our plan is to conduct a partner-ID, in-volving a visit in Ghana for approximately 12 days where we will have meetings and workshops with the organizations Diabetes Youth Care (DYC) and Youth Advocates Ghana (YAG) that we have been in contact with, as well as other relevant stakeholders, in order to get a proper understanding of the context and identify other possibilities of future partnerships. The main goal is to find out if Ashipti and DYC or YAG (or maybe other organizations) is a match in regard to common values, goals and working methods and if so, find a common ground to start a new partnership working with NDC prevention in Ghana, since NCDs are an increasing problem there. This project would preferably be in the form of a preparatory study followed by a pilot pro-ject. The focus of a new project besides NCDs, will be capacity building with both partners involved.
