Operations Research on Impacts of Child Friendly Spaces in Emergencies
This research brief is for a study to investigate Child Friendly Spaces (CFS). CFS is a widely used tool to help protect children in emergencies. Also called Safe Spaces, Child Centred Spaces and Emergency Spaces for Children, CFS is used by a growing number of agencies in an increasing range of contexts and emergencies but a commonly agreed set of standards, best practice, monitoring and evaluation tools have not yet been fully developed. A strong evidence base is lacking and there is a significant need for further research into CFS to better understand their effectiveness and help develop better systems of measurement for them.
