Cross Border Conflict Research Programme Lot 1
The objective of the programme is to improve effectiveness of HMG investments in fragile and conflict affected situations (FCAS), by providing real-time data, expertise and public good research to inform DFID and Whitehall policy and operations including through the Whitehall Conflict Security and Stability Fund (CSSF) and DFID programmes. The programme is broken into two separate contracts: Lot 1 (X-border conflict dynamics/response), and Lot 2 (Violent and peaceful behaviour). This contract is Lot 1 which is broken into the following two parts: Part A: X-border conflict "hubs" and x-border "spokes." Research will examine networks operating between major conflicts including Afghanistan, through Iran to the Middle East, through the Levant, North Africa and the Gulf to East Africa. Research will include techology based methods (e.g. satellite and aeiral imager, financial data, geo-tracking, communications and/or social media) complemented by quantitative and qualitative field work. Part B: Innovating conflict responses in an era of x-border conflict. Research will collect and collate empirical evidence on international conflict response systems, including multi-lateral and bilateral efforts focussed on peace support or stability and how they can innovate to meet the challenges of x-border conflict.

MOBILIST Policy Platform
The Mobilising Institutional Capital Through Listed Product Structures (MOBILIST) is a five-year, 2.9 million programme funded by the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), under the International Multi-Disciplinary Programme Framework (IMDP). MOBILIST, which began its Inception Phase in June 2021, is FCDO’s first programme targeting listed markets for their potential to mobilise large scale investment flows. It seeks to partner with the financial services industry in developing listed products that can intermediate this capital, and in a form that responds to the prudential regulations and investment models that today define the scope of opportunity for institutional capital. Chemonics’ role in the programme primarily involves leading on the “Policy Platform” workstream, which runs parallel to other MOBILIST workstreams. The Policy Platform aims to identify principle policy themes supporting mobilisation in the public markets agenda; commission and disseminate research and policy advice based on these priority themes; and provide an advocacy role. The products supported by MOBILIST are viable investment opportunities in their own right, and at the same time contribute to systemic change in secondary markets that over time, can mobilise billions of pounds of funding for poverty reduction and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) delivery.

Yemen Peacebuilding Programme - Josoor
The Yemen Peacebuilding Programme (Jasoor), supports local conflict resolution and peacebuilding across districts in four governorates in Yemen (Hodeidah, Marib, Shabwa and Taiz). The programme builds upon lessons learned from the recent Conflict Security and Stabilisation Fund (CSSF) funded Community Peacebuilding Pilot, which highlighted the importance of moving beyond short-term community initiatives to strengthening long-term community dialogue and conflict resolution.

Research and Innovation Systems for Africa (RISA) Fund Manager
The Research and Information Systems in Africa (RISA) Fund programme is a multi-country project funded by the U.K. Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) focusing on strengthening research and innovation systems in target countries, combining the fund manager requirements of two current funds under the RISA umbrella: Strengthening Research Institutions in Africa (SRIA) and African Technology and Innovation Partnerships (ATIP). RISA seeks to strengthen research and innovation systems by developing a portfolio of well-designed, evidence-based sub-projects in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Rwanda, and Tanzania. The RISA programme has three objectives:
1) Research institution and system strengthening (SRIA). To support research organisations to have the capabilities necessary to produce relevant, high quality research and to create an enabling environment for researchers and research organisations.
2) Innovation system strengthening (ATIP). To strengthen the enablers for the scaling of new and emerging technologies with the high potential for poverty reduction and inclusive growth.
3) Strengthening synergies between research and innovation systems (SRIA and ATIP). To identify and support linkages between research and innovation systems that will improve their integration and coordination.
RISA will focus on identifying Research and/or Innovation system strengthening priorities in each of the focus African countries; procuring appropriate suppliers to deliver Research and Innovation system strengthening projects; and managing the overall Research and Innovation systems strengthening fund portfolio. The project is a funds management programme, to issue grants and funding awards to local institutions and partners in Africa.
