POWER: Promoting Opportunities for Women's Empowerment Rights (Women's Rights to Sustainable Livelihoods 2) - ActionAid Bangladesh
The POWER project is a five year initiative (2016-2020). Its overall objective is to increase the income, and the ability to control this income, of 19,501 rural women in Bangladesh, Ghana and Rwanda. POWER was also implemented in Pakistan between 2016 - 2018. The targets have been updated following the closure of the Pakistan office; previous targets can be found on the Original logframe and the actual numbers achieved by ActionAid Pakistan can be found on the POWER 2018 Annual Report.

Making Market Work for Women(MMWW)
Making Market Work for Women (MMWW), the 5 years 8 months project funded by Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (EKN) and implemented by ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) has completed four years in June 2021. AAB along with its local partners started the project in November 2015 with the aim of strengthening food security in selected areas by promoting women agro-entrepreneurship through improving women’s access to nutrition, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and market transformation.

Resilience Intervention for Community Empowerment (RICE) - COVID-19 Response
Provide Multipurpose cash grants to targeted households and setup hand washing points in project working areas to ensure the hygiene practice and to reduce the speeding of the COVID-19 virus. Conduct awareness raising sessions on COVID-19. This support was provided to the RICE project participants as a cash grants to support their livelihoods and meet their basic needs during lockdown. And it also helps to avoid negative coping mechanism during lockdown period.

Support to the local community - COVID-19 response
ActionAid used its contingency fund to provide multipurpose cash grants to targeted households to meet their basic needs during the lockdown. This support was given to the most marginalised groups including day labourers to promote correct hygiene practices. Additionally, ActionAid Bangladesh delivered awareness-raising activities on COVID-19 led by project staff who was provided with the appropriate PPE.

Support to Labour community in Barisal Sadar in response to COVID-19 pandemic
The aim of the project is to provide employees of transport services with multi-purpose cash support to address their basic needs.
Due to the lockdown, transport owners are unable to provide their workers with daily wages, as all transportation services are suspended by the government authorities. Due to the specialised character of their work, transport employees were unable to seek different employment and therefore a particularly vulnerable group during the COVID-19 pandemic.
