These schools, plus schools provided with computers through the previous project, will then be able to set up Practice Enterprise Networks as part of the “Europen” initiative. This will mean that pupils can set up Practice business firms and conduct simulated business in realistic conditions. Though this will initially take place only in the schools selected for this project, the practice enterprise network will be a national agreement, and eventually any Kenyan school, job centre or other educational establishment with ICT facilities will be able to take part. ;
This hands-on business experience will dramatically improve the employability of young Kenyans who participate. As will be explained, the project contributes to gender equality and conservation issues and will increase the level of international cooperation between Kenya and Slovakia.;
The project aims to improve standards of education in the Voi district of Kenya and at the same time improve employability of young Kenyan school leavers, contributing to reducing Kenya’s alarmingly high unemployment rate. This project will enlarge on a previous similar project run by The Applicant in Kenya from 2010-2012. High schools will be provided with internet-ready computer laboratories and training sessions will be provided for teachers on how to make use of ICT and project-based learning. The ability to utilize these computers has already had proven success in raising standards of education in Kenya;
